Meet the Box sponsor Fabricut Contract
by Olivia Rascoe

Since 1954, Fabricut Inc. has been a leading distributor of decorative fabrics in the world, and the Fabricut Contract division maintains the largest hospitality fabrics collection in the industry. At HD Expo, the brand demonstrates its custom design capabilities for fabrics and wallcoverings, including trimmings, decorative drapery hardware, and finished products services. This year, they’re lending their high-end luxury fabrics and years of commercial design expertise to the Box challenge, which will be revealed on the show floor at #HDExpo 2020. Read on to hear Matt DeShantz, Vice President of Fabricut Contract, discuss the brand’s role in the initiative.

Why did Fabricut Contract get involved with the Box challenge?

As a longstanding advertising partner with Hospitality Design, the Box challenge provided us with an incredible opportunity to showcase our vast textile and wallcovering library and work one-on-one with the talented designer participants, like Urban Robot Associates, to craft their guestroom of the future.

Through our brands – Fabricut Contract, FR-One, S. Harris and Muraspec Wallcoverings – the participating Box designers could feel confident that our textiles and wallcoverings are high quality and design-ready to pass the necessary wear and fire-retardant specifications, and can accommodate all price points and projects ranging from economical to high-end luxury.

How does your product impact or integrate into Urban Robot Associates’ concept of the guestroom of the future?

Fabricut Contract attributed to Urban Robot Associates’ vision of unplugged luxury through guest comfort with soft goods and surfaces. Whether it’s the wallcovering, drapery treatments, decorative top of bed materials, accent pillows, or upholstered seating inside or outside on the patio, our soft goods and surfaces contribute to an atmosphere that allows guests to shut down, unplug and recharge with the comforts of home while they are away.

What can we expect from Fabricut Contract in 2020?

With Fabricut Contract, the A&D community can expect the best solutions for everyday textile and wallcovering specifications; a continued partnership with a reputable company who prides itself in first quality products including an extensive selection of fire-retardant and IMO textiles and wallcoverings; and a one-stop resource to create incredible hospitality, commercial, senior living, and healthcare interiors.

We’ll be introducing several textile and wallcovering collections throughout 2020, along with relaunching our Finished Products program highlighted by drapery, shades and top treatments, bedding, and decorative pillows. Not only do we manufacture these Finished Products but we also provide measure and install services for a complete turnkey project.
