At HD Expo 2019, we challenged hospitality design firms to think inside the Box. And think, they did.
Hospitality Design and Hilton teamed up for the second year to present the one-of-a-kind design challenge, where 11 design firms were tasked with imagining the guest room of the future…within 24 hours. No pressure. Each concept incorporated products from 15 sponsoring brands, and was judged by an incredible panel of design talent and business acumen featuring Bobby Berk, (Bobby Berk Home and Bobby Berk Interiors + Design), Anthony Melchiorri (President, Argeo Hospitality), Daniel Wade (COO, Plaza LV) and Larry Traxler (SVP, Global Design, Hilton.)
During HD Expo 2019, the panel revealed that the winner of the Box challenge was Giancarlo Pietri of Urban Robot Associates, with his take on a wellness-inspired space.
While the intense, 24-hour challenge may be over, the Box is just beginning. Urban Robot’s indoor-outdoor space will be fully built-out and brought to life by EVO Design (with purchasing by The Parker Company) and revealed on the HD Expo 2020 show floor in May.
The good news is that we’re taking you along for the ride. What really goes into creating the guest room of the future? Why are certain products selected? How are the important ambient aesthetics chosen? Stay tuned as we share updates and sneak peeks leading up to the grand reveal on the show floor at HD Expo 2020.
